The Company
Clefbits is a music production company specializing in soundtracks for videogames. Our team is able to compose music in any musical style for every platform available on the market.
Clefbits' musicians have an impressive musical background, both in theory and practice and possess a vast collective knowledge of the gaming industry. We are not just musicians, we are musicians who love and breathe videogames.
Our services are flexible and tailor-made for each project, from a casual web game to a complex RPG. We work closely with producers and directors to achieve the musical objectives proposed for the game.

Marcelo Martins
Marcelo is the founder and main composer of Clefbits. He studied electric guitar with Yonsen Maia and music theory, orchestration and piano with Daniel Maudonnet. He began his musical career in 1995 playing covers of classic heavy metal songs. In 2000, he founded the heavy metal band Plexus and released an EP with his own compositions, called "Departure". The first full-length album, entitled "Plexus" came out in 2003 in Brazil and in 2004 in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In 2006, Plexus released "Lifecycles". This album was released worldwide on iTunes by Clefbits in 2011. The new version has chiptune bonus tracks for "The Immortal Cowboy" and "Catering Rats".
The experience with the production of these albums was compiled in a book called "Comunicação Subterrânea", which was released by Editora Frutos in 2004. The objective of this book was to help independent musicians produce and sell their art. After that, Marcelo continued to refine his understanding of recording and mixing techniques by studying at the Institute of Audio and Video, a prestigious school in São Paulo. Soon after the course was completed, he worked as an audio engineer and recorded the album "All My Life" for the heavy metal band Viper. He also worked on projects involving artists such as Wanessa Camargo, Jay Reed, Tomati, and others.
Marcelo Martins followed each generation of video games and worked directly in the industry. From 2002 to 2006, he was a columnist for the newspaper A Tarde and has written over 200 game reviews. In 2006, he was invited to be editor of the official Xbox 360 website in Brazil and created games using HTML to develop the relationship between consumers and Microsoft. One of his game concepts, "Os Homens das Cavernas", was selected by a committee of the Ministry of Culture of Brazil.
